Donald H. Bellinger Sr., 81, of 47 Franklin St., formerly of Glenfield, died Wednesday at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Summerville Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard A. Bennett, pastor of Pulaski Wesleyan Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
There are no calling hours.
Surviving are his wife, Neltje Emma; a daughter, Mrs. Ira (Donna) Learned, Lacona; two sons, Donald J. "Dan" Jr., Pulaski, and Stephen R., Sandy Creek; a brother, Richard, Florida; two sisters, Louise Cronkite, Maryland, and Marie Phillips, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Born Sept. 23, 1914, in the town of Worth, son of Howard and Ida Crawford Bellinger, he graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central Schol in 1935 and married Neltje Emma Thomas on March 28, 1941, at Laytonsville, Md., with the Rev. Dillon B. Groves officiating.
He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression, worked for Eastman Kodak Co., Washington, D.C., and later served in the Navy during World War II as a first class petty officer and photography specialist.
Mr. and Mrs. Bellinger built, owned and operated Bellinger's Truck Stop and Pine Diner, between Mannsville and Sandy Creek, retiring and moving to Glenfield in 1970. They returned to Sandy Creek this fall.
Mr. Bellinger was a member of Lowville Memorial American Legion Post 162 and was a former Mason.
