Notes - Obituary of Irene Greenfield
Irene E. Greenfield, aged 84, life resident of Orwell, passed away Sunday, September 2nd at Morningstar Care Center in Oswego. Irene was born January 15, 1934 in Altmar, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie Janacek. She graduated from Altmar, Parish, Williamstown High School in 1952. Irene married Beryle Greenfield on November 29, 1952. She held a certificate in “Civil Defense Training” and First Aid. Irene attended Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church, where she was the organist/pianist, church secretary, VBS director and Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Potts of Orwell, three sons, Stephen (Pam) Greenfield of Sioux Falls, SD, Bruce (Tina Grace) Greenfield of Raytown, MO and Wayne (Debra) Greenfield of Pulaski, 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her husband Beryle in 2015 and one daughter, Dawn Greenfield in 2000.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 7 at Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church 386 Pine Meadows Road, Altmar, NY 13302 with burial in Evergreen Cemetery Orwell. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
