- Lucinda was born the daughter of the late Robert & Lillian (Tiller) Lattimer. Many of her friends know her as “Cindy.”
During school Lucinda was active in band and chorus for four years, her junior year she was part of all county chorus. Cindy was involved with the school play as a freshman and sophomore, and was on the honor roll her junior and senior year.
Following graduation, Cindy attended CCBI graduating with a degree in executive business administration and accounting. She worked at American Finance in Pulaski, later moving to North Syracuse where she obtained her real estate license and worked for various agencies in the region. She later moved to Central Square where she worked for F. G. Alletzhauser, Inc.
Cindy later moved to Altmar where she opened the Altmar Smokehouse and Lodge which had the first fish cleaning station on the Salmon River. During this time she also worked for the Boy Scouts of America in Syracuse, worked at the Salmon River Fish Hatchery, Byrne Dairy, “Ma Barkers” and Earls. Several years ago Cindy moved to Georgia where she worked in the office for Kennedy Contract Painting, and as a short order cook. About 17 years ago she went to work for Soft Water Company that was later bought by Metro Water Filter of the south, with which she is still employed.
While in Central New York, Cindy was an active volunteer. She served as Regent of the Ontario Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution, President of the Half-Shire Historical Society for a time in the early 1990s, President and later secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary and Secretary of the Civic Club. Cindy was active also in the Pulaski Eastern Star holding the seat of Ada. She was an early volunteer of NOCA ambulance.
Since her move to Georgia Cindy continues to be an active community volunteer. She is secretary, fund-raising chair and trustee of the Crooked Creek Association. A member of the Robinson-Dance Saturday school class and a member of Eatonton First Methodist Church, and secretary for “Energizers” (a senior non-denominational fun church group). She is also a member of the Harmony Community Association and works the annual fish fry there. The group has an annual dinner club where Cindy and others cook for the group twice a year. She is also active in the local republican club.
Cindy is married to James Spicer, and has one son Timothy Wheeler who lives in Eatonton, Georgia. She has six step children: Diane Godfrey, Sherry LaFlamme, William Spicer, Douglas Spicer, Robert Spicer and Jeff Spicer. Cindy also has three grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
In her spare time Cindy enjoys travelling, particularly “home” to see her mother Lillian Lattimer, family and friends.
