- Obituary of James Stassi
James T. Stassi, aged 89, lifetime resident of Syracuse, NY passed away Saturday at Elderwood Nursing Home in Clay. James was born November 20, 1928 in Syracuse, the son of Rosario and Rose Pauldine Stassi. He graduated from Vocational High School. James married Ruth Nemier on September 25, 1965. He founded, owned and operated Stassi Electrical Contracting Company for 55 years, retiring in 1998. James was a member and past treasurer of OMECA, the Onondaga Metropolitan Electrical Association, a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of Pairs & Squares. James lived his life to the fullest; he worked hard, he loved to dance and to travel, especially his annual trips to Italy. James’ greatest joy in life was his family, he is deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, one daughter, Carolyn (John) Barbato of Liverpool, one son, Marc Caufield of Boston, MA, three grandchildren, Lynn (Michael) King, Nicholas Barbato and Dan (Dara) Barley and one sister in-law, Connie Stassi and one brother in-law Harry Heilman. James was predeceased by his two brothers, Tom and John, and two sisters, Josephine Heilman and Lorraine Stassi.
Funeral services will be held at a future date to be announced. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
