- Newspaper Obituary - October 8, 1893 Sunday Leader - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - Hugh Kennedy, aged 29 years, died Friday evening of lung trouble. Deceased was a much respected citizen, and was a brother of James A. Kennedy, of Plymouth. His funeral will take place on monday with requiem high mass at St. Vincent's church. He leaves a wife and one child to mourn his sad death.
Newspaper Obituary - Sun, Oct 8, 1893 Sunday News - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - Death of Hugh Kennedy - Hugh Kennedy, one of Plymouth's well known young men, died at the home of his brother on River street yesterday after an illness of almost one year of heart trouble. Mr. Kennedy had contracted a cold some four years ago which bothered him on and off until last December when he was taken down sick and was never able to leave his bed. Deceased was a young, powerful man and well respected in Plymouth. He was 23 years old, stood 6 feet 3 inches in his stockings and weighed 225 pounds. For the past eigh months he had the best of medical aid, but despite this, he declined and passed away. The funeral will take place onday.
Newspaper Obituary - October 10, 1893 WilkesBarre Record - The funeral of the late Hugh Kennedy took place yesterday forenoon from the home of his brother, Edward, on Railroad street. The remains were taken to St. Vincent's Church where a requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. P. C. Winters. From here they were conveyed to Welsh Hill Cemetery, their final resing place. The pall bearers: P. P. Callary, T. J. Brown, P. F. Eagan, William Foley, John McHugh, James Moore. Undertaked Moore had charge of the funeral.
Newspaper Obituary - October 12, 1893 Weekly Star - Plymouth, Pennsylvania - Hugh Kennedy, aged 29, brother of James A. Kennedy, died on Friday night of lung trouble. His funeral took place on Monday. Requiem High mass was celebrated at St. Vincent's Church. The interment was in the Welsh cemetery.
