    • Newspaper Obituary - August 29, 1987 Times Leader - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - Gladys Young - Gladys L. Young, formerly of West River Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1987 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marylin Messerschmidt, of Pioneer Avenue, Hatboro. Born in Plymouth, June 23, 1899, she was a daughter of the late David J. and Edith Smith Lewis. She was a former teacher and pianist. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Plymouth; St. David's Society, Wilkes-Barre; the Rotatry Anns, Wymoning. Her husband, Gail B. Young died July 1986. Surviving in addition to her daughter are two grandsons; sister, Mary Kelly, Chestnut Hill. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Frederick and Snowdon Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre with Rev. Allan Bone, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
