- Newspaper Obituary - December 13, 2008 Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - December 10, 2008 - Lewis C. Dawley, 85, of Delano St., Pulaski, died December 10, 2008, at his home. Born in Parish, NY, son of Herbert and Alma Smith Dawley. He served in the central Pacific in the 475th infantry of the U.S. Army from 1943-1945. He retired in 1985 as a service manager for Pulaski Sales & Service Co. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, the former Betty E. Turner; a son, Gary (Linda) Dawley of Pulaski; five grandchildren; nine great-grand-children; one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Dawley Sykes; four sisters; and two brothers. No services or calling hours. Spring burial in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar, NY. Arrangements by Summer-ville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, NY. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice
Watertown Daily Times (NY) - December 13, 2008 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Lewis C. Dawley, 85, of 81 Delano St., died Wednesday at his home. Mr. Dawley worked at Pulaski Sales & Service Co. for 37 years, retiring as service manager in 1985. Born June 7, 1923, in Parish, son of Herbert and Alma Smith Dawley, he attended school in Pulaski and served in the Army with the 475th Infantry during World War II, from 1943 to 1945. He married Betty E. Turner on Sept. 14, 1947. He was a member of Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358. Surviving besides his wife are a son and his wife, Gary and Linda, Pulaski; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. A daughter, Bonnie Sykes, four sisters and two brothers died before him. There will be no funeral or calling hours. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. Arrangements are with Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
