- Newspaper Obituary - May 10, 2017 Patriot News -- John (Jake) Henry Wagner, 89, of Harrisburg, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with family by his side. Born September 22, 1927 in Harrisburg, he was son of the late Joseph I. and Bessie E. Wagner. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edith M. (Lewis) Wagner of Harrisburg; sons, J. Michael Wagner (Deborah) of Harrisburg, and Joseph D. Wagner (Joanne) of Boiling Springs; and his daughter Judy Lynn (Richard) of Harrisburg; along with 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. John was a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School, and served in the United States Army Air Corps. He then worked for Bell Telephone for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time at the beach boating and fishing, collecting model trains, working on his computer, and bird watching. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. John had a caring, loving heart and will be missed by all who knew him. Respecting his wishes to celebrate his life rather than his passing, there will be no memorial service. Private interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
