CHARLES H. KAINE, 73, RETIRED TEACHER, DIES

Charles H. Kaine, 73, County Route 22, died Monday in Oswego Hospital.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Robert Green officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Dugway.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St., Pulaski. Donations may be made to the Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church or Gideon’s International in Watertown.
Surviving are his wife, L. Merlin; a son, Sidney C., Altmar; a daughter, Linda J. Pijor, Fairfield, Conn.; four grandchildren; a brother, Derold, Cuylmer, and two sisters, Dorothy Murray, Baldwinsville, and Muriel Weldon, Parish.
Born March 23, 1917, in the Town of Orwell, son of Harold and Bernice Wiggins Kaine, he was graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1935 and received a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College in 1939.
He received a master’s degree in education and administration from Syracuse University in 1948, and a master’s degree in science from SU in 1959.
Mr. Kaine was a high school science teacher at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School for 39 years, retiring in 1979.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He married Lillian Merlin Janacek April 9, 1942, at Sandy Creek.
Mr. Kaine was a member of the Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church, the Watertown Chapter of Gideon’s International, the Russell Tryon American Legion Post 1435, the New York State Retired Teachers Association and the Oswego County Retired Teachers Association.
