Obituary of Mark J. Paye
Mark J. Paye, age 67, resident of Pulaski passed away Friday at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Mark was born April 21, 1954, in Watertown, the son of Dana and Kathleen Quinn Paye. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1972. Mark was married to Kathy A. Cole on March 31, 1979, and she passed away August 15, 2004. He was employed as a millwright with Local #1163 in Syracuse for over 40 years. He also owned and operated Paye’s Logging in Pulaski for 22 years. Mark was a member of Millwright’s Local #1163.
Mark was a devoted partner, son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.
Mark enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, planning a never-ending list of projects, and “putzing” around on his beloved tractor. To know Mark, was to know his love for hockey and his family. Mark had a witty sense of humor, and an impeccable ability to tell the best dad jokes.
Surviving are his beloved, Julie Fisher of Pulaski, two sons, Luke (Megan) Paye of Central Square and Michael (Kimberlee) Paye of Pulaski, three daughters, Sarah Paye of Oswego, Laura (Lynwood) Grimes of Swansboro, NC and Kathryn Paye and fiancé Jordenn Giles of Pulaski, two sisters, Kelly (James) DeVaul and Kathy Richards both of North Syracuse and seven grandchildren Branigan, Bradyn, Cloey, Aila, Ivy, Mason, Cameron. (And his nine “fur-grandchildren”)
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Thursday, February 3rd at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Maplelawn Cemetery in Dugway. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
Donations in Mark’s name may be made to either The Salmon River Ice Hockey Association or the United Friends of Homeless Animals.
