Newspaper Obituary - (Source Unknown) - Lois Hughes - Former Mannsville Resident - Mannsville - Lois Stewart D'elosua Hughes, 48, formerly of Mannsville, died May 12 of cancer at Vista Hill Health Center, El Paso, Texas. Mrs. Hughes had lived in Texas for 30 years and had been a computer operator at various businesses. Born Aug. 18, 1950, in Watertown, daughter of George and Rose Stewart of Adams, she graduated from Mannsville Manor Central School, Mannsville, in 1968. She was married to John L. Hughes. A previous marriage had ended. Surviving besides her husband, El Paso, are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Angela) Krieger, Plano, Texas; a son, John L. Jr., El Paso; five sisters, Mrs. William (Jean) Norris, Coldspring, Texas, Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Rudd, Melbourne, Fla., Barbara Raymo, Plover Wis., Sharon Saumier, Ocala, Fla., and Mrs. Ronald (Martha) Worns, Pulaski; a brother, Richard Stewart, Ellisburg; a grandson, and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. James (Robyn) Simmons, Fort Worth, Texas, who helped care for her during her illness. A brother, Clifford Stewart, died before her. A memorial service was held May 20 at Vineyard Northeast, El Paso, with the Rev. Steve Alvarez officiating. The body was cremated. Arrangements were with Hillcrest Funeral Home, El Paso. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.
