- Eben A. Forbes, age 83, resident of Richland for the last 60 years, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Eben was born August 24, 1933 in Altmar, the son of Phillip and Anna Rice Forbes. He attended Altmar Schools. Eben married Nancy Yerdon on June 26, 1954. He was a member and employed by the Operating Engineers Local #545 in Syracuse for over 50 years. Eben was a founding member of the Redfield Fire Company and a charter member of the Northern Blue Jays Motorcycle Club. He was a former President and honorary member of Harmony Riders Association.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Nancy, two daughters, Patricia Colvin of Liverpool and Linda (John) Curry of Pulaski, grandchildren, Jason Colvin (Sammie Noakes) of Woodstock, GA, Andrea Colvin (Nathan Saddler) of Watertown, Matthew (Christie) Curry of Kissimmee, FL and Thomas Curry (Taylor Newcomb) of Pulaski, great grandchildren, Logan, Alyssa and Serena, two sisters, Marry E. Morris and Cecilia Ackerman, and a legion of nieces and nephews. Eben was predeceased by one son, Eben J. Forbes who passed away July 14, 1975 and five siblings.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28th, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, NY with a spring burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
