    • Obituary of Warren E. Gardner
      Warren E. Gardner, age 85, resident of Altmar, passed away Friday, April 29th at Rome Hospital. Warren was born to the late George and Laure Forbes Gardner on October 10, 1936, in Altmar. Warren attended Altmar Schools. After leaving school he worked on the Seaway Project in Massena and Niagara Falls. On September 26, 1959, he married Florence Pizon of Pulaski in St. John’s Church. Shortly after he was drafted into the United States Army, serving from 1959 until 1965 at Fort Irwin, CA during the early Vietnam conflict and later at Fort Drum while in the Army Reserves. After being discharged, Warren returned to Altmar and went to work as a welder for Williamstown Irrigation then later as a welder/fabricator at Technical Erector’s in Syracuse, from which he retired. Warren was a hunting and fishing enthusiast and a charter member of the Albion Fish and Game Club. He also formed a small campground and fish cleaning station at his home to cater to salmon fisherman in the area.

      Surviving are his wife, Florence, four daughters, Susan, Gwen, Margaret and Laura, six grandchildren, Nicholas, James Jon, Alexis, Erica and Gavin, six great-grandchildren, Konner, Kashton, Kreedence, Donivin, Iris and Margo. He is also survived by his sister Velma Short of Wilmington, DE, brother John (Grace) of Adams and brother in-law, Wayne Dealing of Pulaski and several nieces and nephews.

      Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7th at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski followed by the funeral service at noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
