Thomas W. Wheeler Sr., 64, Baldwinsville, formerly of Altmar, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Wheeler was employed in road construction by various companies. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 333, Syracuse.
Born Oct. 30, 1942, in Syracuse, son of William and Elsie V. "Jane" Britton Wheeler, he attended Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School.
A marriage ended in divorce.
He was a longtime resident of Altmar, moving to Baldwinsville in 2004.
Surviving are five daughters, Teresa Noack, Baldwinsville, Tammi Farrell, Stewart, Fla., Traci Wheeler, Pulaski, Tanya Martin, Conway, S.C., and Kandice Farias, Indiantown, Fla.; two sisters, Ladonna Lake, Richland, and Linda Tanner, Williamstown; two brothers, Robert, Williamstown, and James, Altmar, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Thomas W. II, died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Central New York.

Thomas W. Wheeler Sr., 64, a longtime resident of Altmar, died Sunday at his home in Baldwinsville, where he had resided since 2004. He was born October 30, 1942, in Syracuse, the son of William and Elsie V. "Jane" Britton Wheeler. He attended APW High School. He was employed by various construction companies doing road construction for many years. He was a member of the Laborers Local #333, Syracuse.
Surviving: five daughters, Teresa Noack of Baldwinsville, Tammi Farrell of Stewart, FL, Traci Wheeler of Pulaski, Tanya Martin of Conway, SC, and Kandice Farias of Indiantown, FL; two sisters, Ladonna Lake of Richland and Linda Tanner of Williamstown; two brothers, Robert Wheeler of Williamstown and James Wheeler of Altmar; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Thomas Wheeler II.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster- Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
