    • Ichabod was known often by his middle name, "Randall". He was listed as a spinner in some census returns, and others a shoemaker. The family lived in Venango County, Pennsylvania most of their lives, Cornplanter Township and Canal Township, and in later years Cochranton borough. In 1860 the family was living in Plum Twp. In 1880 the family is living in Cooperstown, Venango County County. "Ecobod R" is with Mary, Celia R., Ada and Mason H. In the 1900 census Ichabod (known as Randall) and Mary were living at 330 Central Ave in Cleveland, Ohio in the home of their daughter Celia Summersgill . In the 1910 census Ichabod is found in the Sugar Creek Poorhouse, he was listed as a widower. He was listed as debilitated and not fully able to care for himself. At the time his son Mason also went into that facility. Ichabod died on Christmas Day 1911 and was buried in the Linesville Cemetery in Pine Township. It is thought by this researcher that the children who died young in Venango County: Sarah (1871), Infant son (1869), and perhaps Harriet--are buried in the old Crouch family Cemetery. This writer is familiar with the cemetery, and it has only a few stones visible. It sits on a knoll above a pond, off of Swamp Rd. in Canal township, Venango County, Pennsylvania. The cemetery is on the old Silas Crouch farm. Mason Hatfield Crouch's 1851 stone is the one in the best condition.
