Obituary for Walter E Stuart
Troy - Walter E. Stuart, Jr. of Troy completed his earthly journey on September 20, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Walter is survived by his wife of 44 years; Vivian Leclair, his son Todd Michael (Lori), his twin brother Walton (Candi) of Castleton, NY. He was the brother in law of Jeanne Leclair of Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents; Walter Sr. and Marguerite Stuart of Rensselaer, and by his brother Eugene of Montana.
Walter graduated from Columbia High School, after which he served in the Naval Reserve. He was then employed by Lydall Manning in Green Island, from which he retired.
Walter loved traveling to Maine and Lake Placid. He always had a great interest in Civil War history and because of this made many trips to Gettysburg, PA.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10 AM at the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Walter’s family from 3 until 6 PM at the funeral home on Sunday, September 25. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Walter’s memory may be made to The Community Hospice: Gift Processing Center, 310 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208, or to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
