- Mr. Edward W. Snyder,57,of VanAuken Road, Lacona died Sunday, Jan. 24 at his home after a long illness. A native of Pittsfield , Mass., Mr. Snyder resided in Lacona for 53 years. He was a formerly employed at General Crushed Stone Co. in Sandy Creek. A Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Snyder was a life member and pastcommander of Cable Trail VFW Post 8534 of Lacona. Surviving are his wife, the former Marv VanGieson; a son Brian, at home; six daughters, Beata Tharp of Tuscon, Ariz., Beverly of Rochester, Bonnie Barney of Adams Center, Barbara Knight and Brenda Parker,both of Watertown, and Billy, at home; his mother, Blanch Snyder of Lacona; a brother, Keith of Pulaski; and four sisters, Patricia Goslin of West Palm Beach, Fla., Dorothy Gibbs of Richland and Elizabeth Snyder and Joan Stacy, both of Lacona. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 in the Summerville Funeral Home,the Rev. David Rudd officiating. Burial will be in North Boylston Cemetery,Lacona.
