- Newspaper Obituary - November 9, 1994 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Mildred G. Stacy, 81, of 9599 N. Main Street, died Tuesday in the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Summerville Funeral Home with the Rev. Lorraine Zimmerman, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Sandy Creek Volunteer Fire Department or Northern Oswego County Ambulance, P.O. Box 113, Pulaski, N.Y. 13142. Surviving are her husband, Raymond A.; two sons, Paul Stewart, Sandy Creek, and Peter Stewart, Lorraine; five daughters, Mrs. David (Jane) Thomas, Rodman, Mrs. Stanley (Diane) Cooley, North Syracuse, Mrs. Dewey (Nancy) Roberts, Pulaski, Mrs. Ray (Sue) Fargo, Sandy Creek, and Mrs. Bill (Bonnie) Barber, Oxford; two step-daughters, Diana Charles, Olean, and Dorothy Wood, Florida City, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Oakes, Syracuse; and three brothers, James Dana, Lacona, and Ernest and Harrison Dana, both of Sandy Creek. Three brothers, Bill, Gerald and Harley Dana, and a sister, Elsie Helbock, died before her. Born April 20, 1913, at Sandy Creek, a daughter of William and Sarah Collins Dana, she was educated in Sandy Creek schools. She married George Dixon Stewart on July 19, 1933, and the couple lived and farmed in Ellisburg for a time. Mr. Stewart died on December 15, 1957. She then married Raymond A. Stacy April 21, 1962. She retired from the former Lally Manufacturing Co., Adams. She previously had worked for the former Crescent Corset Co., Adams.

Mrs. Stacy was a life resident of Sandy Creek. She retired from Lally Manufacturing Co., Adams. Her first husband, George Stewart, died in 1957. Surviving are her husband, Raymond A. Stacy; two sons, Paul Stewart of Sandy Creek and Peter Stewart of Lorraine; five daughters, Jane Thomas of Rodman, Diane Cooley of North Syracuse, Nancy Roberts of Pulaski, Sue Fargo of Sandy Creek and Bonnie Barber of Oxford; two step-daughters, Diana Charles of Olean and Dorothy Wood of Florida City, Fla.; a sister, Charlotte Oakes of Syracuse; three brothers, James Dana of Lacona and Ernest and Harrison Dana, both of Sandy Creek; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Summerville Funeral Home, the Rev. Lorraine Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
