    • Obituary for Donna Mae Babcock

Donna Mae Babcock, 74, formerly of Sandy Creek, NY, and more recently of Norwich, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her daughter’s residence and with her children by her side.

Born November 22, 1943, Donna was the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Stacy) Stowell. On December 27, 1970, Donna married her beloved husband of 46 years, James Babcock, who died on July 3, 2016. Donna was a devoted wife and mother, and found pleasure staying at home to care for her husband, children, and household. She and her husband enjoyed taking leisurely drives in the country to take in the scenic views and to stop for lunch. She spent Mondays with her daughters doing the same after her husband’s passing. She was also fond of visiting Rogers Environmental Center with her daughters, in Sherburne, to feed the fish and ducks there, and she loved to read.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Christina Babcock and her companion, Scott Utter, and Tracy Babcock; sons Terrance Babcock and his wife, Janet, Jonathan Babcock, Faron Cronk and his wife, Julie, and James Cronk; grandchildren Morgan, Loretta, Archie, Teri Shyann, Justin, and Shannon and her husband, Jake; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Alexis; Brothers Gene Stowell and his wife Karen, Claude Stowell and his wife Dottie. In addition to her husband, Donna was predeceased by her sister, Dixie Lee Matott.

A graveside service for Donna will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Altmar, NY. There will be no calling hours.

Contributions in Donna’s memory may be made to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
