      The funeral for Eva E. Steele, 64, Stewart Street, wife of Carlton R. Steele, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with Rev. Daniel B. Baker, pastor of Vorea Community Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Calcium Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

      Contributions may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance.

      Mrs. Steele died at 12:42 a.m. Thursday in the emergency room of the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, after being stricken ill at her home.

      Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Carl and Richard, both of Orwell, and John, Parish; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Stacy, Sandy Creek, and John Stacy, Boylston; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Vercie) Cary and Mrs. Jack (Ada) Hackett, both of Fulton, Mrs. Lillian Sanderson, Syracuse, and Mrs. Bill (Jennie) Shabych, Syracuse and St. Petersburg, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

      A brother, Richard Stacy, died previously.

      Born in the Town of Boylston on Oct. 27, 1923, a daughter of Jay and Rena Tyfair Stacy, she attended Boylston and Sandy Creek schools.

      She married Carlton R. Steele April 28, 1945, in Fulton.

      The couple had resided in Richland since 1947. Mr. Steele is a native of Black River and an Army veteran of World War II.
