      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 27, 1870 The Daily Press - Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - Port Ontario - Perry Spencer, a boy nine years of age, son of Theodore Spencer of Port Ontario, was drowned while bathing in Salmon River, at that place, yesterday afternoon. Two other small boys were with him. His grandmother, hearing his outcry, came to the pond, but was not able to assist him. As he sank he said "good-bye" to her. The bridge at Port Ontario is being rebuilt.
