    • Newspaper Obituary - September 23, 1940 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - T. J. Kennedy Dies At Home In Avondale - Former Road Supervisor Took an Active Part in Plymouth Twp. Community Affairs - Thomas J. Kennedy, 59, prominent figure in Plymouth Township business and political life for many years, died suddenly this morning at 6 in the family home on Main Road. Avondale section, following a short illness. Mr. Kennedy was a former supervisor of the township and had always taken an active part in community affairs. His death is a shock to a host of friends and followers. Mr. Kennedy had been in Philadelphia on Saturday to attend the funeral of an aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Murray(Smith). When he returned home he seemed to be all right but during the night he was stricken. He was born in Plymouth but had lived most of his life in the township. He was a member of St. Vincent's R.C. Church. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Reese; a grandson, of Plymouth Township; two brothers, Eugene and William Kennedy, of Larksville, and a sister, Mrs. John Tobin, of Hanover Township. The remains have been taken to the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 110 East Main street, Plymouth, where the funeral will be held at a time to be announced.
