    • Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, February 18, 1961 Palladium Times - Two Small Tots Find Man Dead In Route 11 Diner - Hastings - Two small neighborhood children found a 58 year old man dead in the kitchen of Neva's Diner on Route 11 near here last night. He was employed in the dinner operated by his sister. Deputy Sheriff Whitney Schouten, who investigated, identified the man as Theodore Thurston, who resided in a room in the diner. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. William Birrell of Central Square. His body was ordered removed to the Oswego County morgue in Oswego by Assistant District Attorney Thomas McCarthy of Constantia for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Traub's ambulance from Central Square took the body to Oswego where Dr. Herman Dick of Syracuse, recently appointed pathologist, performed the autopsy. The investigators said that two small neighborhood sisters, who had entered the diner to make a purchase, discovered Thurston on the kitchen floor about 6:45 pm. Thurston assisted in operating the diner which is owned and operated by his sister, Mrs. Neva Revoir. She had left the diner about two hours earlier and had gone to her nearby home. Deputy Schouten said. No foul play was indicated with death believed to be by natural causes. Thurston had had a slight cold, he added. Besides Deputy Schouten and Assitant DA McCarthy at the scene, Debuty Sheriff Arthur Revoir, son of the diner owner was present. Thurston was born in Munnsville on Oct 13, 1902, a son of the late Marshall and Clara Horr Thurston. He had resided here about a year, coming from Stockbridge. Surviving besides his sister, Mrs. Revoir, are a brother, Lewis Thurston of Rochester, and two half brothers, John Thurston of Durhamsville and Erwin Thurston of Stockbridge. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Traub Funeral Home, the Rev. Joseph Clarke, pastor of Hastings Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Stockbridge cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
