- Newspaper Obituary - December 31, 1959 Sandy Creek News - Injuries Prove Fatal To Driver - Donald Milton Weaver, 27, died in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, Saturday morning, December 26, 1959 of injuries when his car struck a tree on the Ridge Road two miles south of Lacona. He was driving the car owned by his brother Robert L. Weaver of Texas, N.Y. which was demolished. The accident happened in front of the Asa Yerdon home, Mr. Weaver having been going toward Richland. According to state police from the Pulaski substation who investigated the car, in which Mr. Weaver was alone, went out of control on the icy road and rammed a tree head-on in the from yard of the Yerdon home. - Dies in Hospital - Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sandra Spark Weaver; a son, Jeffrey and a daughter, Lori Weaver; his parents, Lee Weaver and Mrs. Eliza Stewart Weaver; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Stewart of Sandy Creek; seven sisters, Mrs. Warren (Vivian) Chatterton of Sandy Creek; Mrs. Lyle (Madeline) Ridgeway of Syracuse; Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Bailey of Cape Vincent; Mrs. James (Helen) Syrell of Lacona; Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Morton of Mexico; Mrs John (Bethel) Kimball of Lacona; Mrs. Henry (Constance) Chapman of Sandy Creek; two brothers, Robert of Mexico and Malcolm of Springfield, Illinios and several nieces and nephews. A private funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Weston and Woodard Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Vining, pastor of Sandy Creek Baptist church, officiated. The bearers were brothers in law; Warren Chatterton, Robert Bailey, Kenneth Morton, James Syrell, John Kimball and Henry Chapman. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in the spring.
