- Marvin H. Countryman, 87, of Fort Plain RD 3, a retired dairy farmer, died Wednesday April 9, 1969 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Slingerland. He was born July 9, 1881 in Johnstown and had lived in the Freysbush area for 10 years
For a time he had been employed asa silk weaver in Gloversville, then engaged in dairy farming until he retired in 1960.
He was married twice. His first wife, Harriet Whitman Countryman, died in- 1926. His second wife, Edith Van Train Countryman, died in 1935. Besides his daughter Ruth, he leaves two step-daughters, Mrs. Leo Cagwin Newville and Mildred Hilbert, Lawrence, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Eva Whitman, Gloversville The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the Swartz Funeral Home with burial in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
