- Newspaper Obituary - March 2, 1993 Syracuse Herald Journal - Syracuse, New York - Clifford F. Allen, 63, of Mexico Road died Saturday after suffering a heart attack while vacationing in Florida. He died in Starke, Fla., at the Bradford Hospital. Mr. Allen was a life resident of Phoenix. He was an operating engineer and engaged in general construction with Union 545 in Syracuse. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Phoenix. He was a member of the International Union of operating engineers 545, Syracuse. He was a member of VFW Post 5540, Phoenix, the American Legion Post 418, Phoenix, and the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Alice McMahon; a son, Timothy C. of Phoenix; a daughter, Christine Allen Sheedy of Long Island; his mother, Jennie Robinson Allen of Phoenix; two brothers, Mart H. of Thendera and Andrew J. Allen of Los Osos, Calif.; a sister, Adelia J. Pearson of Boyleston; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational Church, Bridge St., Phoenix, the Rev. H. Scheffler officiating. Spring burial with military services will be in the Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 919 Main St., Phoenix.
