- SERVICE THURSDAY FOR ANNA L. CLEVENGER, 62

A graveside service for Anna L. Clevenger, 62, Ellisburg Road, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wesleyan Cemetery, Lacona, with the Rev. Melvyn S. Connell, pastor of Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Mrs. Clevenger died Sunday when the car she was driving was hit head-on twice, once by an alleged drunk driver, in a three-car collision on Route 11 in the Town of Sandy Creek. Her mother, Elsie M. Briggs, who was a passenger in the car, was also killed in the accident.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 this evening at the Summerville Funeral Home.
Surviving are a son, Scott A. Clevenger, Sandy Creek; four grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Briggs, Phoenix, Ariz., and Lowell Briggs, Tampa, Fla., and several cousins.
Born in Boylston on June 13, 1927, a daughter of Benjamin H. and Elsie Ridgeway Briggs, she was graduated from North High School, Binghamton, and from Binghamton General Hospital School of Nursing.
A marriage to Charles Clevenger ended in divorce.
Mrs. Clevenger lived in Binghamton and Tully before moving to Sandy Creek in 1979. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Loretto Geriatric Center, Syracuse, retiring June 30 of this year.
