Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 28, 1931 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Succumbs to Long Illness - Widow of W. D. Ellsworth, 82 - With the passing of Mrs. Alice Adell Woods Ellsworth at her home on Rome Street, last Wednesday afternoon, this community lost one of its oldest and highly respected residents. Mrs. Ellsworth, who had lived at the farm home where she died for 37 years, was the widow of William Dwight Ellsworth who died in June 1927. She had been ill about a year and the Monday before her death suffered a shock. Mrs. Ellsworth was born in Pulaski October 30, 1849 a daughter of Charles W. and Sarah Prouty Woods. She was a member and former deaconess of the Baptist church of Pulaski. Surviving are one son, Harrison of Pulaski; three sisters, Mrs. Helen DeMott, Pulaski; Mrs. Catherine Luddington and Mrs. J. R. Porter of Syracuse; and two brothers, Dean R. Woods of Syracuse, and William Woods of Pulaski. The funeral was held from her late home Saturday afternoon, Rev. Bertram A. Walton, pastor of the United church of Camden, a former pastor of the local Baptist church, officiating. Burial in the family plot in Pulaski cemetery.
