    • Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 19, 1889 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York -Charles Snow died at La Salle, Illinois, the 9th inst., aged 58 years. He died of paralysis after a lingering illness extending over the months. He was a native of this village and was born in the house now occupied by Hiram Maltby, Esq. He possessed a fine intellect and marked ability. His education was commended in Pulaski and he was at one time a pupil of D. A. King, Esq., when school was taught in the basement of the Baptist church. He removed to Ottawa, Illinois, when 22 years of age, and resided there till the year 1877, when he removed to La Salle. He leaves a widow and eight children to mourn his loss. They all reside at La Salle, except two sons who live in Chicago. In the notice of his death the "Daily News-Herald" of La Salle, says "Mr. Snow had many friends. Being a man of strict honor and integrity, unobtrusive and possessing the faculty of minding his own business; he was popular with all his acquaintances, and respected by the community at large and his death is universally regretted." Of the survivors of his father's family but three remain, a brother, Norman G. Snow, who resides at LaSalle, and a sister and brother, of this village, Benjamin Snow and Mrs. J. W. Fenton.
