Newspaper Obituary — Saturday, September 1, 1990 Watertown Daily Times — Watertown, New York — Ethel I. Stevens Babcock, 81, VanDyne Nursing Home, Syracuse, formerly of New Haven, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Pulaski Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home. There are no calling hours. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Surviving are a sister, Mildred Zinter, Syracuse, a niece and a nephew. Mrs. Babcock was born on May 22, 1909, in New Haven and attended schools there. She married Alexander Babcock of Syracuse. He died in 1970. Mrs. Babcock lived her entire married life in Syracuse, and until her retirement in 1968, she worked at a drying cleaning business there. She was a communicant of St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church, Syracuse.
