- Vernon's Obituary - Sioux Falls Vernon Widrig, 49, 1801 East 34th St. North, died Saturday Sept. 25, 2004 at Avera McKennan Hospital following a brief illness. Services will be 10:00 AM Wed., Sept. 29, 2004 at George Boom Funeral Home followed by interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Sioux Falls. Visitation begins at 5:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will be present to greet friends from 6 8:00 PM. Vern was born Jan. 13, 1955 in Syracuse, NY. As a teenager he lived at Hartford before moving to Sioux Falls. He married Susan (Wingert) Vincent on April 2, 1982 in Sioux Falls. In earlier years he worked for Wingert Construction and had his own tree service company. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Susan Widrig, Sioux Falls; his children, Angela Garabrandt, Eric Vincent, Alyce Widrig, and Joel Widrig, all of Sioux Falls; 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bill (JoAnn) Widrig, Valley Springs, SD, Albert Widrig, Tucson, AZ; and his mother and father-in-law, Ron and Elaine Wingert, Sioux Falls.
