- Elvin (AL) Willis Painter - PUBLISHED: MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2016 AT 2:40 PM - Elvin (AL) Willis Painter, 85, passed away unexpectedly on November 8th at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Florida. Born Dec. 31, 1930 in West Monroe, N.Y. to Cloyd and Georgia (Allen) Painter. Elvin grew up in Fulton and then lived in Hastings, West Monroe and Clay, until moving to Florida in 1998. Elvin retired from General Electric after 32 years as a construction plumber and steam fitter. An avid baseball fan, Elvin played softball until 79 yrs. old, retiring from the senior softball league in Lakeland. Elvin was predeceased by his first wife, Rosemary (Clark) in 1968 and his brother Royce Painter in 1977. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Straub-Painter; son Curtis Painter; daughters, Marcia (Michael) Waldron, Sheree Painter, Julie (Michael) Wilk, Lynn (Patrick) Owens; grandsons, Shaun (Celeste) Waldron, and Calvin and Travis Painter; granddaughters, Heather (Zachary) Zuckerman, Tiffany Owens, Brittany (Frank) LeClair, and Lyndsie, Christina, and Aubrey Owens, and 8 great grandchildren. Services will be held at the family’s convenience.
