- About 5 p. m. on Tuesday at his residence, two miles east of this village, James C. Buss died suddenly, aged 59 years. As it was during a heavy electric storm it was believed at first that lightning was the cause, but no trace of it could be found on the body or on the veranda where he was lying to rest after a hard day's work. He was an honest, industrious man, a good neighbor, a kind and indulgent husband and father, and will be greatly missed. The deceased was born in Vernon and came to this place eight years ago. There survive the wife, one son and two daughters, Eugene of this place, Mrs. M. G. Spoden of Utica and Mrs. Arthur Snow of Parish, and seven grandchildren.
