    • Born to a life of sorrows Mary Adaline was none the less a strong woman who gave her children a firm upbringing and a determination to do better. Married at a young age to a distant cousin nearly 30 years older than her, Mary worked hard on the old Seeley farm until after her husband's death in 1921. In 1922 she sold the farm and later married widower Henry Butcher, moving to Bleakly Hill in Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania. Henry and Addie lived in a little grey one story home there until her death in Franklin Hospital in May 1941. daughter-in-law Jane Seeley recalled that on the morning Addie died a bird had flown in her hospital window and she had believed it an ill omen of her final day. Addie was buried in Peter's Corner Cemetery next to her 1st husband Peter. In 1994 Great Grandson Shawn Doyle set a bronze marker on their graves with their vital statistics and full names. There son David was buried with them there also in 1946. Granddaughter Patsy Seeley Doyle has a crystal "Pansy Vase" that once belonged to Addie, given to her by Aunt Florence years before.
