Funeral services for Frank A. Chatterton, 82, of Boylston, were held Fri. at Sandy Creek. Rev. Partington, pastor Boylston Wesleyan Church, officiated, burial in Mt. Adnah Cemetery at Fulton. Mr. Chatterton died Feb 2 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Chatterton, five sons, Carl E. of Batavia, Frank A., Jr., of Rochester, Wilbur J. and Warren L. Chatterton of Mannsville; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Clarabelle) Nash of Cazenovia, Mrs. Howard (Ruth) Brown of Unionville, Conn., Mrs. Elmo (Dorothy) Loomis, of Mannsville and Mrs. Norman (Mabel) Vicinus of Hilton, all children by his first marriage. Three others, George, Harriet and Phyllis died early in life. The surviving children include a son, Kenneth E. Chatterton of Mannsville and a daughter, Miss Grace Chatterton of Syracuse, children of his second marriage. Five step-daughters and one step-son also survive including Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Britton of Williamstown, Mrs. Jesse (Marion) Noble of Pulaski, Mrs. Ernest (Doris) Groff of Liverpool, Mrs. Thomas (Esther). Robas of Fulton, Mrs. Ray (Mildred) Snedecker of Oswego and John Bellrose of Huron, Ohio. Mr. Chatterton was born Mar 31, 1882, in Orleans county and spent his early life there. He was the son of Daniel DeWitt and Sarah L. Smith Chatterton. In Sept 1919 he was married to Miss Lillian C. Peterson who died Jan. 8, 1929. On Jun 21, 1930, he was married to Miss Bessie Rumsey of Mexico now deceased. In 1952 he married Mrs. Edna Bellrose of Boylston. He has been a farmer all his life until he retired a few years ago. He had operated a small farm on the Smartville Road in Boylston and before that was a farmer near Mannsville. At one time he resided on Maple Ave., in Pulaski. He was a member of the Boylston Wesleyan Methodist Church.
