Henry Bigness, Well Known In Area, Dies In Malone Saturday
The funeral for Henry Bigness, 65, of Malone, who died at the Malone hospital Saturday night after a long illness, was held Tuesday morning at St. John Bosco church there, with the Rev. J. Lee Snow officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Notre Dame cemetery, Malone. Survivors include, his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Rosario Lamica and Mrs. Chester Gardner, both of Rochester; Mrs. Cecil Grant of Fort Covington; Mrs. Howard Hart of North Bangor; Mrs. Harold Jeror and Mrs. Floyd Jeror, both of Malone; two sons, Carl Bigness of Fort Covington and Robert Bigness of-Westville; five step-sons, Clarence Lamica of Malone; Vernon Lamica of Cooks Corners, and Gerald, Norman and Rosario Lamica, all of Rochester; three step-daughters, Miss Lorena Lamica of Malone; Mrs. William Trombly of Malone and Mrs. Fred Sawyer of Port Ritchie, Fla.; 82 grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph of Burke: Francis of Malone; Sylvester of Carthage; Charles of Vancouver, B.C., and Norris of Malone, and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Lamica and Mrs. Ida Lamica, both of Malone, and Mrs. Mary Disotell of Carthage.
He was born at Malone August 3, 1894, a son of Joseph and Mary Russell Bigness. He was twice married. His first wife, the former Amelia Martin died in 1927. On September 7, 1931, he married the former Priscilla Lamica at Notre Dame church.
