- Cleo Stanton Halsey, former member of the Fulton Art Association
Cleo Stanton Halsey, 79, of Volney Road, Fulton, died Tuesday, April 26, at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of West Amboy, Mrs. Halsey had resided in Fulton most of her life. She had worked at the Nestle Company in Fulton from 1950 to 1960. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Fulton. She was a former member of the Fulton Art Association and was well-known for her paintings and bird pins. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Elwyn A. Halsey, who died in 1985, by a daughter Cleo V. Halsey, who died in 1964 and by two sisters Dorothy Lord of Bernhards Bay and Volina Hrywnak of Constantia. Surviving are two daughters, Joan C. Morgan of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda Halsey-Coakley of Fulton; a sister, Agnes Jennings of Parish; a brother, Rowlan Stanton of West Amboy; six grandchildren; three stepgrandsons; two great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Saturday, April 30, at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. The Reverend Janet B. Gibbs officiated. Burial was at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church memorial fund.
