- Obituary for James F. White
James “Jimmie” F. White, 101 of Kalkaska, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, with his family by his side.
Jimmie was born on August 14, 1920, in Pontiac, Michigan to the late, James and Bessie (Warner) White.
He married Betty Calkins in Lapeer, Michigan on November 15, 1941, they were days away from their 80th wedding anniversary.
Jimmie spent a few years as a mechanic on automobiles and John Deere Tractors, his last job was cleaning the Kalkaska Post Office for 16 years, where he finally retired at the age of 80. One of his life highlights was having lunch with the Senior Henry Ford. He enjoyed his time with the residents at Eden Center Nursing home the last few years.
Jimmie leaves behind his loving wife, Betty White; eight children, Michael (Lani) White, Alan (Lina) White, Carl (Esther) White, Jeffrey White, Brian (Luanne) White, Susan (Randy) Hopkins, Peggy (James) Sowulewski, and Lisa (James) Ramsberger; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack White.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, Carl White, Israel White, and Ford White: and one grandson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Kim Hough will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Garfield Township Cemetery.
