    • Newspaper Obituary - July 19, 1923 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek - Charles F. Colvin - On Tuesday evening July 3 at 9:00 at the Broad Streeet Hosptial, Oneida, occurred the death of Charles F. Colvin who resided at the Five Corners. Mr. Colvin was born in the town of Orwell, Oswego County, June 22, 1868, and resided there until about 17 years ago when with his family he removed to Sherburn, N.Y. From there he moved to Waterville where he had charge of a large stock farm. Upon moving to Oneida he bought his present home where for the last 12 years, he has lived. About five years ago Mr. Colvin fell from the roof of a house in Sherrill, where he was engaged in carpenter work, and for 3 months was in a local hospital suffering injuries that it was thought would prove fatal. He rallied, however, and although in miserable health, was able to be around. He was subject to heart spells and was never entirely free from pain and it was thought that his last fall was caused by one of these spells. He was a kind and loving husband and father and a true neighbor and friend to all, who will miss his pleasant voice and smile. Mr. Colvin leaves his wife and eleven children all of whom reside in the vicinity of Oneida: Mrs. Reginald Morgan, Mrs. Wesley Miller, Mrs. Louis Block, James Yeman, Effie, Irene, Winifred, and Nellie, and two sons, Fayette and Richard. He leaves four brothers: James of Richland, Warren of Altmar, Arthur of Pulaski, and Bina of Ashtabula Ohio; and also one sister, Mrs. Percy Williams of Maine.
