    • October 15, 1885 - John Turner, age 57 years, 7 months, 4 days, Widow, Carpenter, born in New York, Resident of Richland Township for 2 months, Son of John Turner, died in Pulaski of apoplexy.
      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 22, 1885 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mr. John Turner, late of New Haven, but for the last few weeks, residing with his son-in-law, Mr. M. D. Bumpus, of this village, was found dead in his bed on the morning of the 15th inst. A jury inquest was called by Coroner Caldwell, composed of the following named persons: N. B. Smith, foreman, F. N. Parker, O. F. Wright, T. S. Meacham, George W. Fuller, Z. H. Kiblin, John Preston, B. D. Salisbury, W. H. Gray, William June. Only two witnesses were sworn, M. D. Bumpus and Dr. Low, who examined the body. From their testimony, the jury after deliberation brought in the following verdict: “That the said John Turner came to his death by an apoplectic fit while in bed at the residence of his son-in-law, M. D. Bumpus. The deceased was fifty-seven years of age.
