      James E. Maring May 18, 2010 James E. Maring, age 74, resident of Sandy Creek and Pulaski for the past 40 years died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. James was born April 11, 1936 in West Carthage, NY, the son of Clinton and Delores Wilkinson Young. He graduated from Lowville High School in 1953 and he attended CCBI in Syracuse. He served in the Naval Reserve from 1952 until 1958. James married Mary Hardy on June 15, 1987. He served as a NYS Trooper from 1961 to 1977 and he was also a Syracuse Police Officer from 1957 until 1960. James was employed as a bus driver for Pulaski School District for 19 years, retiring in 2001. He also served as Sandy Creek Town Justice from 1982 until 2010. James along with Tom Rindos owned and operated Sears Catalog Store and Frick & Frack Restaurant, both in Pulaski, for many years. James was a member of the Pulaski American Legion Robert Edwards Post #358, the Fraternal Order of Police and the NYS Magistrates Association. Surviving, his wife Mary; one son, James A. (Yvonne) Maring of Oswego; three daughters, Vicki (Bruce) Swaider of Painesville, OH, Shelia Bond of Syracuse and Diane Maring of Rochester; one stepson, Robert (Michele) Hardy of Pulaski; two stepdaughters, LouAnn (Ric) Solomon of Constantia, and Lori (Joe) North of Norfolk; two brothers, Donald Maring of Watertown and Leo Maring of Webster; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Central NY Region, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
