Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, February 26, 2012 Syracuse Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Shirley M. Almeida, 83, of Mattydale, passed away Friday at home with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Mexico, New York. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1946. Shirley retired in 1993 from New York Telephone after 45 years of service as a special circuit designer. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, John. who died in 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Burton of Mattydale and Michelle Fchrman of Chittenango; her three grandchildren, David Burton of Mattydale, and Nikki and Heather Fehrman, of Syracuse; her sister, Beverly (Mike) Flaherty of Williamstown; her cousin, Gladys Hunt Killam of Sandy Creek; several nieces and nephews; as well as her niece/goddaughter, Colleen (Ken) Kugler of Williamstown. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to their family, friends and Dr Suzanne LaManna for their love, prayers and support over the past four weeks.
