- Ronald was born in 1935 in Pulaski, delivered by Dr. Dunbar, 8lbs (Pulaski Democrat article) . He was known as "Spike" and graduated from Pulaski Schools in 1953. Spike enlisted in the army in January 1955. He was sent to the far east as part of the 24th Infantry division of the US Army. he was stationed in Korea according to a January 24, 1957 Pulaski Democrat article. Following his discharge Spike later relocated to Maryland where he was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Howard County, Maryland. He had also worked for Roper Eastern Products in Baltimore.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 25, 2001 Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) - Ronald A. Tilkins - Ronald A. "Spike" Tilkins, 65, formerly of Richland, died Saturday. He was born in Richland and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1953. He was a maintenance supervisor for Howard County, Md. He also worked at Roper Eastern Products in Baltimore, Md. He was a member of the Moose Club Lodge in Baltimore and a former member of Richland Fire Co. He was an Army veteran. Survivors: His companion, Phyllis Tilkins; three daughters, Terri Wilson of Flagstaff, Ariz., Dianne Knott of Baltimore and Nancy Lenning of Altoona, Pa.; two brothers, Robert of Sarber, Pa., and John of Daytona Beach Shores, Fla.; seven grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial, Richland Cemetery. Calling hours, 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 52 Park St., Pulaski.
