Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 4, 1948 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Milton Landphere, 78, Dies in Blankman Home - Milton Landphere, 78, died Friday night in the home of Purnie Blankman, where he lived. A native of Albion, Mr. Landphere was born July 28, 1869, a son of Charles and Eliza Landphere. He had lived in this section all his life and he was a farmer. His wife, Ada Stewart Lodge Landphere, died in 1935. Surviving are a brother, William, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Stacy, both of Fort Ontario; a stepson, Clifford Lodge of Mexico; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mildred Frye of Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the Karl W. Gibbs funeral home where services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Merle O. Brown officiating. The body was placed in the Mexico Cemetery vault.
