      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 8, 1968 Syracuse Herald-Journal - Syracuse, New York - Pulaski - John P. Brown, 85, of Richland, died late Monday evening at the Evergreen Nursing Home, Williamstown, following a long illness. He was born November 23, 1882, at Redfield and had attended Redfield schools. For many years he was employed by the New York Central Railroad at Richland. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae Cowles, Geneva and Mrs. Betty Hahn, Syracuse; a son, Earl D. Brown of California, several grandchildren; three brothers, David Brown, Camden, Earl Brown, Dayton, Ohio, Mark Brown, Redfield; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Donovan, Syracuse and Mrs. Charlotte Williams, Remsen, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Foster Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. from St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be at Richland Cemetery. Friends may call at 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
      John was one of the builders of the Mad River Club in Redfield.
