    • Newspaper Obituary - September 28, 1967 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Howard Stewart Dies September 17 - Howard Stewart, 41, of Marathon, RD 2, died Sept 17, 1967, in Binghamton General Hospital. The funeral was held Sept. 20 at the Baker funeral home, Marathon, with Rev. William Stanton, pastor of the Berkshire Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Marathon Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Aletha McConnell, four daughters, Mrs. Mastronardi, Johnson City, and Donna, Deborah, Conny, all at home; two sons, Howard Jr., and Gerry, both at home; a granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Presley, Fulton, and Mrs. Gertrude Peterson, Parish; and a brother Warren, Texas. Mr. Stewart was born in Sandy Creek June 6, 1926, a son of Howard and Hazel Kinsman Stewart. He was employed by a roofing company in Binghamton.

Mr. Stewart was born in Sandy Creek. He was a member of the Cortland Loyal Order of the Moose. He was employed by the Tile Roofing Co. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Mrs. Aletha McConnell Stewart; four daughters, Mrs. Connie Mastronardi of Johnson City; and Miss Donna Stewart, Miss Deborah Stewart and Miss Connie (Penny) Stewart; two sons, Howard Stewart Jr, Marathon and Gerry Stewart, Marathon; a grand daughter; a brother, Warren Stewart of Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Presly of Fulton, and Mrs. Gertrude Peterson of Parish. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Marathon Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 36 Main St.
