    • Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, March 23, 1968 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Man, 79, Dies - Sandy Creek - Ivan F. Stewart, of 9221 Ellisburg street, died Friday at the Oswego County home, Mexico. Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Cleveland funeral home, Sandy Creek.

      Newspaper Obituary - March 28, 1968 Sandy Creek News - The funeral of Ivan F. Stewart, 79, was held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Cleveland Funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Rowley, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in the spring(actually buried in Richland cemetery). Mr. Stewart died March 22, 1968 at the Oswego County Infirmary in Mexico, following a stay of three months in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. He had been in failing health at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nick Kendrat, previous to that time. Born in Richland, Jan 30, 1889, Mr. Stewart was the son of Cyrus and Elizabeth Eddy Stewart. His early life was spent in the Sandy Creek and Pulaski area, and he attended school in Sandy Creek. On May 16, 1916 he was married to Miss Eva Nichols at the Methodist parsonage in Sandy Creek. The marriage ended in divorce in June 1939. Mr. Stewart was a machinist for Autolite Co., Syracuse, until his retirement. Seven years ago he returned to Sandy Creek and has resided at 9221 Ellisburg Street with his daughter Mrs. Kendrat. Surviving are a son, Walter Stewart of 127 Blanchard Blvd., Syracuse, two daughters, Mrs. Nick (Joanne) Kendrat, Sandy Creek and Mrs. Frank (Winifred) Ostrander, Brewerton, a brother Thomas Stewart of Fabius, four grandchildren and several nieces and nepehews. The only organization with which he had any connection was the Methodist Church, Sandy Creek. Mr. Stewart enjoyed gardening, finding much pleasure in its cultivation.
