- Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, July 22, 1990 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Julia Mae McLaughlin, Mexico Point, Dies - Julia Mae McLaughlin, 80, Mexico Point Drive West, died Saturday at Oswego Hospital after a short illness. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the McFee Voluntary Ambulance, Mexico. Surviving are her son, William George, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Janet Osuchowski, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sally Blunt, Mexico Point; three brothers, Seymour and Fay Britton, Chittenango, and Robert Britton, Brewerton; seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Meher, Camden, Mrs. Mina White and Mrs. Viola Mowers, Orwell, Mrs. Maude DeGraw, Trenton, Florida, Mrs. Jane Wheeler, Altmar, Mrs. Ada Bulson, Brewerton, and Mrs. Rose Peck, Williamstown; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Carolyn L. Peters, died on June 21, 1982. She was born October 1, 1909, in Williamstown, a daughter of William and Edith Ouderkirk Britton. She attended Williamstown district schools. She married George W. McLaughlin on September 1, 1928, in the Methodist parsonage at Pulaski, with the Rev. Charles Bolinger officiating. Mr. McLaughlin died February 21, 1963. She had lived in Mexico since 1928 and was a member of Femwood Methodist Church and the Oswego Senior Citizens Bowling League. Mr. McLaughlin was employed by the D.W. Winkleman construction company, Syracuse.
