      Mrs. Almira Haggerty

      Mrs. Almira Haggerty passed away at the home of her son, William K. Haggerty, early last Wednesday morning, aged 87 years.

      The deceased was born near Cedarville, Herkime Co., and was united in marriage about sixty years ago to Lott Haggerty who died six years ago. Grandma Haggerty was a woman of a very congenial disposition. She was very active and maintained her activity to the last.

      Deceased was a member of the Methodist church which she served faithfully as long as her strength permitted. As her pastor called upon her during her last days, she often spoke of her great faith in God. Truly God has only called her home to sleep until the resurrection morn.

      She leaves to mourn from the home where she has lived and been so tenderly cared for, a son W.K. Haggerty, and his wife and two grandchildren, Barbara and Gladys; three other sons, George of Pulaski, Frank of Ilion and Charles of this village, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Montondo of Syracuse, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

      The funeral was held from the Haggerty home on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Her pastor, Rev. A.A. Lawrence spoke words of sympathy from the text, "She hath done what she could." A most fitting text as her life was one of love and devotion to her family and to her church. Mrs. J.A. Frost and Mrs. A.A. Lawrence sang her favorite selections "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Nearer My God to Thee" with Miss E. Lucile Carr at the piano.

      She was laid to rest in the family plot beside her husband in Fair View cemetery.
