- Newspaper Obituary - December 7, 2005 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - COLE - George A. Cole Sr. December 5, 2005. George A. Cole Sr., son of the late Garold C. and Laura B. Cole, born May 30, 1930, in the town of Dugway, passed away at his home December 5, 2005, with his family at his side. He was a journeyman lineman for Local Union IBEW 1249 for 50 years. George was a Boy Scout leader in Parish for a couple of years, a charter member of the Altmar Fish and Game Club, a charter member of the Altmar Lions Club, a member of the Pulaski Masonic Lodge #415 and a 32 Degree Mason for 30 years, and a member of Pulaski Puritan OES #159 for 29 years. George was predeceased by two daughters in 2004, Kathy Cole Paye and Sandra Cole Blaise. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris A. Colvin Cole. They were united in marriage on January 21, 1949. Also survived by two sons, George A. Cole Jr. of Virginia, and Larry A. Cole of Pulaski; four daughters, Laurie A. Hunter of Pulaski, Doreen A. Brewer of North Carolina, Darlene A. Scarborough of Parish and Charlene A. Moon of Virginia; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia A. Cole Mowers of Parish; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Dugway United Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at 1 p.m., with Reverend Leo Sidman officiating.
